RETIRED BOISE STATE UNIVERSITY ENGINEERING PROFESSOR AWARDED IDAHO EXCELLENCE IN ENGINEERING EDUCATOR AWARD

Boise, Idaho – March 5, 2004 – Norman F. Dahm, PE has been chosen to receive the Idaho Excellence in Engineering Educator Award. His selection was made by consensus of the Idaho Society of Professional Engineers (ISPE). This peer-nominated honor recognizes engineering educators who have had a significant impact on the engineering profession in Idaho.

Dahm was always a very popular teacher, characterized by his students as helpful, knowledgeable, demanding, and fair. Now a member of the Engineering Advisory Board, he has been a steady force for engineering education in Idaho for over 50 years.

Dahm has been an active member of the Idaho Society of Professional Engineers for over 45 years, serving in offices including State President and National Director.

As a professional society, ISPE promotes and recognizes quality engineering work and provides professional development opportunities for Idaho’s engineers. The organization has a public information program to demonstrate how engineers and engineering affect the daily lives of Americans. Growing the next generation of engineers by providing programs for elementary through high school students is also central to the mission of the society.

For information on ISPE programs, contact Julie Wall at 208-426-0636 or visit the ISPE Web site at www.IdahoSPE.org.
